Flu Shots and a Praying Mantis

this week i got a flu shot. and i didn't really want to. but its was free {!}. i'm all about the free {!} stuff. but still, i didn't really want to. and everyone said "oh, andrea, get a grip! flu shots don't even hurt. duh!" and so i went. and i got a flu shot. and you know what? it hurt! and now here i am typing a blog. and it still hurts. and i feel like i might die. although i do realize that i may be overreacting just a bit.

in other news. this week at lunch i got into a fight with a praying mantis.

i was just walking along, minding my own business, when all of a sudden this praying mantis's was like "hey lady! watch it!!"

and i was like "excuse me?!"

and he was like "you heard me..."

praying mantis's can be such jerks!

So...

sometimes you go to old navy and its like "whaaaaaa?" no cute clothes. you know what im saying you guys? i mean, you might think they have cute clothes. but usually that is a trick. and they really don't. and when you get home with your new purchase you are like "hmm...this thing i just bought from old navy isn't actually cute at all. at. all" and then i say paSHA.

but sometimes you go to old navy and you see this:

and its all warm and fuzzy and cozy and it makes you feel all super cute and autumn-ish. and you think to yourself "well played old navy. well played."

but you also cry a little. because what you really want is to dress like a j.crew model who spends the autumn season in scotland.

and you think to yourself "hey! i could dress like a j.crew model who spends the autumn season in scotland". and then you add up that little ensemble and you realize that it costs over $700. *

so instead you think you will just try to do your hair like this {its free!}:

and you will try to remind yourself that clothes are not what are important in life and you should probably go donate some money to some worthy cau.....oh who am i kidding. i want that bumble tartan mini skirt!

Tonight is ANTM Night!

i'm almost embarrassed to admit this but...i love americas next top model. my name is andrea and i'm an antm addict. {the first step is admitting you have a problem right?} its just so mindless and ghetto and unrealistic and awesome. they already kicked off my most favorite "model", victoria. but that comes as no shock. we can't expect them to have an intelligent, well spoken girl on the show who might expose the total ridiculousness that is tyra banks. no bother. i love it still. but i miss victoria and her sass. she was not only my favorite on this cycle but she also took, in my opinion, one of the best photos in antm history. see look:

Strawberry.

i think that everyone has a favorite love song. my favorite is just about the sweetest song ever written; a simple melody with some of the most incredible lyrics i have ever heard.

i was introduced to this song by my most musically appreciative friend. i was going to let my sister borrow this song for her wedding, but some certain people who i will not name here (the videographer) did not share my feelings.

We need to talk.

ok everybody. listen up. first of all...where the heck have i been?! in hell, that is where. in big corporation hell with all sorts of internet blocks set up with the sole purpose of ruining my life. i swear to you...my job is where happy people go to die. every time someone walks through the doors of my office an innocent fairy ceases to exist. a fairy! such a travesty.

my flickr page has been left abandoned. my blog is a ghost town. my gmail had 135 unread messages. i kid you not. and all of this equals a very big frowny face. :( boo

so that is where i have been.

but not all is lost! i am working on establishing a reliable internet connection at home. and i really feel that my happy blogging life is on the up and up.

so enough complaining from me. i thought perhaps i should do a quick update on my life. so here it is:

-my dad has completely demolished the house he bought. so kind of my family is homeless. hooray!

-americas next top model started and there was much rejoicing

-and then victoria who was my favorite got kicked off for being too smart and cool and many tears where shed by me

-and now i figure i am going to have to root for heather because she is autistic

-and fall rolled around. i so very much love fall

-and someone totally awesome painted this on the crosswalk sign by my house...which made me happy on so many levels
