Help! Most Smartest Interent Friends!

internets! friends! your expertise is greatly needed!
*
my v. good friend melissa is doing research for a client who is designing a new catalogue for their company. she would like to know what catalogues you all love {and hate}. what catalogues urge you to buy buy buy? what ones end up in your trash can minutes after you flip through them? what catalogues do you find most artistic? functional? fun? beautiful? and why?
*
and on a similar note, if you are more of an internet shopper than a catalogue shopper, which websites do you love to peruse?
*
your thoughts and comments would be greatly appreciated. thank you kindly friends!

oh, and that fantastic picture was pulled from here {a favorite shopping {and browsing} site of mine}.

Is this question made for me or what? I get lots of catalogues but it's been a long time since I ordered from one. If I see something I like, I check for it on the web site or in store to see if I really do want it.

La Redoute always ends up in the can 10 seconds after flipping thru it. Same with Victoria's Secret (why are they still featuring shorts that were in their catalogues from 1992). The J.Crew, Urban, Pottery Barn and Sundance ones hang around, if only for ideas.

I would love to help. Catalogues I love: Country Living (I wish my house looked like the ones in here), Sundance (love the jewelry), People (of course), Real Simple (always has great tips on EVERYTHING), Good Houskeeping (I love the mushy stories), Time (keeps me up on my current events), Gourmet (delicious! plus my friend works for it so I have to support), Parenting (I need the help), and Southern Living (they email me a house plan every month).

PB Kids, Pottery Barn, West Elm, Ikea all are stacking up around here. I love to look through them again and again. I usually can't ever afford to buy but when I do, it's more often in the store.
Victoria's Secret may interest me briefly, but if I buy, it's always online or in the store.
Hmm, what else?
White House/Black Market, Delia's, and Alloy all come here, too but again only inspire me to make more money.

anthropologie is the most beautiful snd my most favorite by far. i keep j.crew around for basics. williams-sonoma is for my aspirational cooking hopes ;) i dislike the slew of baby and wine magazines that come to me b/c i bought one baby gift and one wine gift once...

In the catalog dept., I like Boden, and Anthropologie. As far as websites, I like clean, fresh and easy to navigate -- the Layers Clothing website is nice. (layersclothing.com -- i think that's the URL.) i also think darlybird is darling (darlybird.com) Hope that's helpful. I love to be helpful, especiall when it's easy like this!

Fun gig for your friend!

As I sit here, I look in my "magazine rack" and see Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, J. Crew, IKEA, West Elm and Crate & Barrel. Lines like Uniqlo and Camper also put out interesting-if-conceptual catalogs that hang around the house longer than they should. Simply cuz they're cool.

As for as the net goes, my only advice is to make sure there is a "view all" option. I hate clicking through pages. How's that for impatience?

fun question!
catalogs - of course I love anthropologie. and west elm. cb2 is pretty cool. lately, j. crew has been bugging me, but only because I've been paying off my credit card, and the catalog urges me to shop, shop, shop!

websites - anthropologie, again. and zappos is the best shoe site!

Thank you to everyone who posted. I went and ordered all of your suggested catalogs. I can't wait to start looking through them when they arrive in 7-10 business days! It was also interesting to see which companies choose to spell it "Catalogue" while others chose "Catalog." Thanks for the ideas and thanks VERY much to Andrea for posting this for me.

Anthropologie and Delias are the only two that ever actually make it into the house, the others go from mailbox to trash. Oh and I keep the ones from Ikea like they are a home decorating book.
