what i have been reading this week:
my friends and i started a book club in january and although we are only on our 3rd month, i am loving it already. any excuse to read is okay by me.claire chose bel canto by ann patchett as her book club pick. i fell madly in love with this book from the v. first sentence. the writing is beautiful and by the end i was so attached to each character that i was truly sad to see them go. a good book will do that to you.
lisa, who is a children's librarian (jealous am i!), picked the miraculous journey of edward tulane by kate dicamillo. it is an easy read and i finished it in about an hour. this book is incredibly sweet and the artwork is amazing. this is the kind of book that i will read to my own child someday. we get to discuss this book tonight at book club and i am v. excited!and last of all, but surely not least, fabulous emily lent me the proper care and feeding of husbands by dr. laura schlessinger which, i must say, was surprisingly eye opening and a lot more entertaining than one might think.
what have you been reading lately?

Gotta love Dr. Laura. I love my new book, "These is my Words", hate the title, but love the book!
I'm reading The Great Gatsby again simply because I forgot what's so great about it.
Before that I read Dandelion Wine because I can't get over how great it is. If you're looking for a book to kick off summer, this is the one to pick.
